Easy Summer Recipe – Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade

Summer means fresh, organic strawberries and in this post I’m gonna show you how to make a sparkling strawberry lemonade just from four ingredients! It is easy, simple and tastes great on a hot day. It will go down a treat as a summer BBQ drink, your guests will love you for it and they will sure ask you for the recipe! Here is the step by step guide:

Ingredients:

1 cup of strawberries, trimmed and halved (I used Wexford strawberries)

4 lemons

1 cup of sugar (I used brown sugar)

Sparkling/soda water

(Serves 5)

Method:

1. Cut your lemons to quarter pieces and squeeze out the juice (lemons at room temperature are easier to squeeze). Tip: wear gloves if you have sensitive hands like me, otherwise it WILL sting!

2. Put strawberries into the food processor, followed by lemon juice and sugar. Blend on high speed until you get a puree mixture.

3. Pass the puree though a sieve to get rid of the seeds.

4. Fill 1/4 of your glass with the strawberry puree followed by 3/4 part of sparkling water. Add some ice cubes and more sugar if you prefer. Garnish with fresh mint or a slice of lemon/strawberry! For an ADULT version, you can add a shot of vodka/any alcohol beverage of your choice!

You are done!! So simple and easy :) Your guests will be very impressed!

My summer theme this year is Retro with my retro drinking glasses and my pugs as my hip & retro accessories!!! I joke, pets are for life…they’re not just cool walking accessories, ok?

You might say, ‘Cecilia, I want to have a retro summer too! Where can I get those cool drinking glasses??’ I got mine from a very kind friend who owns a cafe (Hi, Sukito!) as I was obsessed with them a few months back, but you can also find them on Ebay and etsy.com. Just search for ‘mason jar drinking glasses’.

That is it for my first easy recipe, hope you will get the chance to try it sometime this summer!! Thanks for reading :)
